Neruval, The Dying Land
Midgard has several continents and many islands on its surface, and like with the waking world it is tectonically active. Millions of years ago all the continents were one single land mass (referred to as Aden), but they all began to separate away from one another. Neruval was once the center of this great supercontinent. Neruval in the grand scheme hasn’t moved as much as the other continents, instead it merely drifts northward at a steady rate. All the other Continents were pulled away from Neruval, and many land masses are still being pulled away from the old land. This is why Neruval is referred to as the Dying Land, because it is literally being pulled apart. Geological scholars in Ben-Abba believe that in the next one hundred million years all that will be left of Neruval will be a series of large subcontinent-like islands drifting away from the center of Neruval. It is also quite clear that the continent is being torn asunder. The area that contains the kingdoms of Bamar, Jehol, Xia-Zhou, and southern Ankou is drifting to the south east. The Northwest of the continent (such as the nations of Massalia, Hallstatt, Kvenland, and the others) are drifting towards the Northwest (tearing the Nentir Vale in half). The southern portion of the continent will separate into three separate land masses all heading southward as different speeds. The remainder of the continent drifts northward.
